I could open the document in QuarkXPress 7. The document saved in QuarkXPress 7 then opened in QuarkXPress 9.5.4.
Howerver, you are right that the provided document does not open in QuarkXPress 9.5.4. We will look into that.
You may download a free 30 day test drive for QuarkXPress 8.5 from the following link. You can then resave the documents at 8.5 and then open in QuarkXPress 9.5.4.
Thank you for your reply. So you are saying, on a Mac, I can pass the documents through either Quark 7 or Quark 8.5 (but I don't need both), then they will open in 9.5.4, correct? Will the bug be fixed in a new 9.5.x version, or will I have to upgrade to 10, with new higher system requirements to get the fix? Also, I am curious, what is the oldest file format that is supposed to be openable by each version of QuarkXPress?
The OP's file linked in the first post opens in 9.5.4 on a Windows computer.
Thank you for the idea. I am on a Mac and would rather avoid Windows.
