Quark 9 - Broken Links

Postby kris_xavier » 22 Jun 2017, 05:56

Hello,

I have moved my files from my pc to the new server and now all my links are broken when i go to print. Has anyone had this issue before that might know of a way to fix the broken links please?

Any input i much appreciated.

Regards

You need to update the links in the publications. You can use the Usage Panel to do this.

Links to, well, linked files are name-dependent. If the path names those images change whether it is on a local drive or a server doesn't matter.

One strategy is to name the server and the folder structures identical to the way it was before.

Another is to have a copy of the files where they originally existed, open one, ensure the links are up to date (again, in the Usage Panel) and then do a collect for output and move the folder structure that creates to the new server. But they will still need updated via the Usage Panel in case the linked images were originally in more than one folder and/or not in an identically named folder that CFO creates directly under the publication folder.

But they can be relinked no matter where the images are just using the Usage Panel.

Thank you for your reply, some useful info there. It seems i will have to go through each document and manually update the missing/updated links.

Thanks
