9.3 color handling of separations

Hellotrying to help one of our customer on handling the separations with his brand new 9.3 release..They still use an old rip which is not PS3.. and doesn't not handle in-rip sep.- Is there a way to output separations without using in-rip separations ? - also for PDF export ; is there a way to export to a multiple pages PDF, each page being one colour (spots) ? or to different PDF with only one sport o each PDF ?Thanks AHG_support

Hi,
Go to File > Export > Layout As PDF. In the "Export as PDF" dialog box, give a name and choose a location for the PDF file, then press the Options button.
In the new dialog box, for "PDF Style" choose "Press - High Quality. Then go in the left pane to "Color". For "Mode" choose "Separations" and for "Setup" choose "Process and spot". In the list below you can also check/uncheck the wanted/unwanted color plates.
After all settings are made, press OK button, then press Save button.
Another option is to export a composite PDF file, then open it in Acrobat Pro and print the separations in the RIP printer.

Host-based separations are deprecated in 9.x and will be removed entirely in 10.x However, you can still work around this by obtaining a small cookie file that Quark will give you if you contact them. Note that you do have to speak with them as they are giving these out on a case by case basis so they can keep track of who has it.
