Invalid Licence File or Host ID

Postby SLomax » 11 Dec 2012, 03:50

Just updated the iMac computer we are using as the server to Mountain Lion (10.8.2). After the update the QLA Server will not run, meaning we can operate QuarkXPress. We get the message INVALID LICENSE FILE OR HOST ID when the QLA Server is launched. I have uninstalled the QLA Server and QLA Client and reinstalled. I have downloaded a QLA License File and still it is not working. Some assistance would be most appreciated as we have several users who can not check a license. Is there a compatibility issue with Mountain Lion?

Invalid Licence File or Host ID

This has to do with the latest Java updates. We can't change to the 32bit Java an more and so QLA doesn't launch properly. I've already tried a couple suggestions listed elsewhere (adding -d32 to the .QLAServer.sh file), but so far nothing has worked. Would really be interested to know if anyone has sorted this out?

Sure would be nice for Quark to release an updated QLA so we dont have to use legacy OS's.
I have been struggling with this same issue for a bit now... QLA just will not run on 10.8

I am also getting the 'Invalid License File or Host ID' after upgrading our server to 10.7.5. Any help from Quark (or anyone with knowledge regarding this issue) would be greatly appreciated.Cheryl

Hello rrouleau,

Apologies for the inconvenience caused. Please re-download the QLA Installer and try again. One of the Quark Servers was not updated with latest software, so the cause of the issue at your end. All the servers have been updated now with the latest version of the QLA installer which is compatible with 64-bit Java.

Regards,
Arminder

Hi Arminder,
I'm getting the same error on Windows 2012 Server.
Is there an updated QLA for Windows? If not, are there any plans for an update or is there a work around?
Thanks in advance,
Ben

Hello Ben,QLA 4.5 is not certified for Windows 2012 Server and this is a known limitation. Let me check with the product team to see if a workaround exists and I will update accordingly. Thanks!
