building an index

I am using quark 8, I want to build an index I create a master page with text box link it with the linking tool and when I go to build a box comes upt o say I havent got any of the above any tips would be welcome. koly

Have you read up in the manual/help file how to create an index?
I haven't really done this, but you will need to tell it what to index by clicking on keywords, and clicking 'add' in the index panel. If you haven't done this, you will get the error message you report, although it's not strictly accurate! Perhaps they didn't expect anyone to try and build an index without telling Quark what to index...

[em]I have read it up and actually I have now been able to start creating an indexbut I have 350 pages and it doesnt seem to pick up page numbers or sub headings I dont think! any other tips would be great.koly[/em]
