Text is all garbled

Ever since I updated to El Capitan, if I open a legacy QuarkXpress document with QuarkExpress2015, the type is all messed up! Actually more than messed up: Everything single letter displays as the Greek character "omega" even though all the correct fonts are activated. Strings and strings of omegas. I am a book designer, so having 320 pages of Omegas is a bit of a disaster. What can I do?

Thanks for this. It looked promising, but it seems no matter where I put the fonts, it won't work. I brought the document into InDesign with Q2ID, and that works!

Kindly disable any Font Management application is running and directly copy the Type 1 PS fonts (Screen and Printer font) in the user> Library> Font and restart the Mac and verify.

You could try clearing the font caches using Font Nuke or a similar utility.

Thank you, A Palanlappan! This works. I must say though, it is not a good option going forward . . . (having to put fonts manually in the user library folder). At least at gets me into the document though!
