Photoshop eps's not previewing correctly in Quark 2015

Is it just me, or others having problems with photoshop eps picture previews in Quark 11. They now appear as if they have a 30% black screen over them. I thought it might just be in the preview, but when I make a hi-res pdf its the same... Very frustrating. grrrgh
What on earth is going on. Love to hear from anyone who may have found a solution to this...
Im a quark user of 20 years + but I really can hear the call of indesign. I have never used it even though its been on my machine for two years. I just did a single page hi-re pdf proof with same image used in quark and its perfect.. Come on Quark get your act together.

This PS EPS file, is it a duotone? If not, have you tried just using the PSD? Are these EPSs that are in existing documents versus a new one?

The PS EPS I have are all duotones and appear on-screen and output correct. Same with the PSDs. Can you share such a file?

Hi Mike, these are cmyk eps's that I have used successfully across files previously created in quark 9.5. I just updated to Quark 11 last week and this is showing up on all old and new quark files. I can share some of the images if you like

Depends on the file size(s). I cannot remember the maximum size of an attachment is here.

You can ZIP up a file and attach it to a post if it will fit. Else it can be zipped and uploaded to say dropbox.com or another file sharing site you use, then either put the link to download it in a post, or feel free to send me a PM with the download link if you want to keep the file private.

To PM someone, you click on their name to go to their profile, then there is an option to send the member a PM.

Hi Mike don't seem to be able to PM yet. Maybe I'm still on probation as newbie.

Got them. I'll be back after a couple phone conferences.

Thanks, Mike

Actually, one phone call was put off for a while. Here's a partial screen shot from the PDF. On-screen they also looked fine.

It may come down to color management settings. I've seen goofy things with it in forum messages. How is your Q set up for managing color?

You're right Mike, those images look fine. When I installed Quark 11, I ran with the default preferences which gave me the dark on-screen preview and dark pdf. Then I fiddled around a bit with preferences, but all of my fiddling made absolutely no difference to either the preview or the pdf output. What are the main things to check?

Hmm.

I use the Windows version but I doubt it matters. I use the Quark defaults for color management. You may want to reset them to that for what goes on below. And it may be that you will need to rebuild your preferences.

But first, in Q 2015, you could try rebuilding the document's preview cache. Which is the first thing I would try. Open Q without a document open. Use the File menu, Open selection. Select the document, hold down Opt/Alt (Mac/Windows) and choose to open it. This should rebuild that documents image previews.

Does that work? I'm in between meetings and so will check back later.
