Bummer. Sorry it didn't help. You could try also setting the monitor to use the Adobe RGB profile if you haven't moved on yet.

Oh. One more thing. The image cache still may be serving the old preview. You could try using the Adobe RGB profile in a new document with your file imported freshly.

If that works, then you can use the image cache tool to delete the old image cache and it will force the previews to be built anew. There is also a key command to force the previews to be rebuilt but I can never remember what it is.

Hi Mike, excuse me for my delay.

I've tried to test the color preview of QuarkXPress on a clean install of Mavericks with a new document and new bitmap file (so, no cache and no monitor calibration): the result is the same! I'm working on a Mac Pro early 2009...

I'm desperate, because don't see a solution to this problem!

Thanks in advance for any other suggestion.

There are some color management issues in QuarkXPress 2015. A "QuarkXPress 2015 Known and Resolved Issues" document can be found here: http://files.quark.com/download/documentation/QuarkXPress/2015/English/QXP_2015_Known_and_Resolved_Issues_en-us.pdf.

Could it be that you are affected by one of the following issues:

• QuarkXPress is unable to render and output properly transparent TIFF image that has had layer
opacity applied in Photoshop. (214074)
• The shadow details of images is dark. The image rendering in QuarkXPress is not similar when comparing it with Photoshop rendering with the same settings. (210318)
• Images are rendering darker when soft proofing is applied. (213960)
• An imported TIFF image embedded with ICC version 2 or 4 profiles, does not render properly on the layout. (190100)
• In soft-proofing, the imported image colors are being color managed to the destination profile, even if the Color Manage Source to Destination option is disabled in preferences. (202581)
• (Windows only): The CMYK colors in the color wheel are not showing the correct colors when the QXP Emulate Legacy RGB profile is applied in the source setup. (204401)
• Image rendering is incorrect when the QuarkGenericRGB profile is used as a display profile, images look lighter. (211689)

For us, we have a problem with TIFF files, because we save them with a color profile.

Thank you pjanssen for you reply.

Wich is your problem with TIFF files? For me, all the colors are always darken, especially those created into QuarkXPress and with the active CMYK soft proof. About the imported images, the different rendering regards also bitmap TIFF file, that haven't included a color profile...

So, there is a solution?

Thanks in advance for all your help.

All our TIFF files look too soft.

Since the issues where listed as known issues: no there is no solution yet.
