Indexing-QuarkXPress 2016 Windows

Have read the help topic on creating a first level run-in index, but so far have not been able to add an index entry. My View menu doesn't have an index tab. The Windows>Index launches an index palette but all options in it are grayed out. If I place the cursor in a sample word or highlight it, in the document, still cannot enter that word in the index palette. Cannot type into the index palette. If I select to build a new index, I get blank pages appended.

There is in the XTension Manager an enabled Index XTension. But no where can I find a right-click context menu to access the Index XTension.

So, I am not sure how to add entries or create an index in QuarkXPress 2016 (Windows) for an HTML5 export.

Any help appreciated.

Hi,
We are not supporting Index feature for Digital outputs. due to this reason, we disabled it for digital layouts.
we have enhancement for this and we will consider this feature for future releases

I have an index problem, in a PRINT layout. (not html5)

The index option does not show anywhere. The Xtensions Manager has a ERROR triangle against the line Index (and against five other items) although they are shown in the first column as enabled.

Presumably I must try to reload them, but how, please?

FYI I have quarkEXpress 2016 12.2.1 on an iMac OS 10.12.4
