Cannot embed video on html 5 publication using QX2017

Hi,

I cannot seem to embed a video at all, even with simple pages.

First thing I did was create a digital project:

Then I created a simple text box with some text in it.
I opened the HTML5 tools from the menu bar 'Windows - Html5'
I created the following, so you can see the text box and the Video:

From the menu bar, I then went to 'Layout - Preview HTML5 Publication'. This then opened up a page in Mozilla Firefox as follows:

Then when I click on these links nothing happens.

Am I missing a step or something?
Why doesn't anything happen?

Also if I change this to select YouTube as in the image below, the webpage just has text on it and I cannot click on anything. There is no play button either. The Autoplay tick box is also greyed out below when YouTube is selected.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Joel,

when you reference YouTube videos, please use the src= option as mentioned in the manual:

Thanks
Matthias

Thank you, but not sure quite what you mean. Do you mean to add in "src=" into the field like this?

All the tick boxes are still greyed out though.

You go to Shar ein Youtube, hit the embed button and it will give you some "code" like this:
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ChrsnNmbrs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Out of that you only copy
Code: Select all
https://www.youtube.com/embed/ChrsnNmbrs

and paste that in the "YouTube" field in the HTML5 palette.

Does it work now?

Thanks
Matthias

Perfect thanks, I was using the wrong format. Rather than:

https://www.youtube.com/embed/nUCtrCvyjS8

I was using:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUCtrCvyjS8
