Is it possible to select multiple polygon nodes at a time?

Postby Jiri Melnicky » 11 Jul 2017, 08:36

Please advise: Can I select multiple nodes by dragging the mouse? Thank you...

Yes, but as far as I know one cannot marquee select the point. Hold shift down and select each point.

Thank you for the quick reply! I used a bad picture, this picture is more accurate:

If I understand this, can nodes not be selected at one time and each node must be selected separately? When selecting the "Point tool" and pressing the Shift key, you can mark the curve and the adjacent nodes are activated - it is a little more comfortable than tapping directly into the nodes. But it would be great if you could tag nodes at one time like InDesign, Corel, Illustrator ...

Hi Jiri,

Command+Shift+Click should do the trick.

Thanks
Matthias

I use windows. If the Command key has the same function as the Alt or Ctrl key, then this procedure does not work. It works only: Alt (Ctrl) + Shift + Click (directly on the curve on the object) - the curve is highlighted and the two adjacent nodes are activated. Upon the next click, all nodes are activated. I only need to mark some nodes by dragging the mouse one stroke, I tried different key combinations and it does not work.

Select the nodes one at a time. I use Windows and that works. I cannot remember if it is shift click or ctrl shift click on each node, but which ever combination it works.

If I want to mark multiple nodes by dragging the mouse, I have to click outside the object. Clicks outside object = nodes markup is deactivated. I tried to hold different keyboards to keep the object active... I do not work in InDesign but managed to mark the selected nodes by dragging the mouse immediately using the "Direct Selection Tool"

Currently each node needs selected one at a time in Q. One can selected more nodes to add to the current selection by hold the shift key.

While I would welcome a means of marquee selection in Q, it just isn't possible at this time.

Ok. I was in part wrong. Using the tool you display in your screen shot, one can hold shift and select the line segments required and then move them.

So that halves the time required to select multiple nodes.
