QuarkXPress 2018 Preferences

Postby monte » 04 Jun 2018, 10:12

Do I have to make the settings for preferences again after Upgrade from QuarkXPress 2017 to 2018 or is it possible to import the preferences from QXP 2017?

2.) The same question also refers to color manager and Xtensions.

I work with MS Windows 10.

Sorry about my horrible english, I'm German. Thanks in advance for your kind attention.

Yes, importing preferences becomes an indispensable tool ... and probably not very long or difficult to program for Quark engineers.

Note that we can export the color profiles, then import them into the new version of the software: the function exists (I have not tested it). On the other hand, you can not export the shortcut changes, and each new version, the job is to start again!

Of course.

After each crash, I get as a solution, to clear my cache and the preferences.
But this can only be an interim solution and not a permanent state. Otherwise something is wrong with the software.
In addition, these solutions do not solve my problems.
First, I can not create a table of contents of a book, because I am always offered only the current layout.
And second, the images are reported as missing on every PDF creation, even though neither their location nor anything else has changed in them.
A permanent stay with QXP for serious users I do not see there.
