New Facebook Group "QuarkXPress"

Postby Matthias Guenther (Quark) » 23 Jul 2015, 03:40

Hi all,

as we have been asked by several customers to create a Facebook Group "QuarkXPress", I have created one yesterday:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/quarkxpress/
Interest seems to be there, already 122 members after one day.

Facebook Groups are more like forums, so maybe more interactive than a Facebook Page.
It's a generic group, so is intended as a platform for all users and fans of QuarkXPress, regardless of version.

So feel free to join us there, though I'd love to see you continue in the forums. I find forums more organized than Facebook Groups, but maybe I am just old-fashioned ;-)

I'll make an introductory offer to all members of the Facebook Group tomorrow, so if you are interested, please join.

Thanks
Matthias

Just to encourage you to join our new Facebook group:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/quarkxpress/

I opened created the group on July 21, so a bit over a month ago. And just the 700th member joined it, that's really exciting.

So if you haven't yet, why don't you join us now?

Thanks
Matthias

I do not use FB. Nor any other social media sites.

I guess one could consider a forum a precursor to social media...and I do use forums. But it isn't the same.

I understand that you are hesitant to join Facebook.

However it seems to be where most of our customers want us to be. We see much more interaction in the new Facebook Group than here in the forums. Discussions, positive feedback, feature requests and so on. Also many participants who are/were active here in the forums now are active in the closed Facebook group.

So maybe a FB group is the natural successor of a forum? Not sure, as forums still have advantages, such as subforums and being able to see what you read or where you need to respond to.

I'd welcome your decision to create a Facebook account just for the QuarkXPress group. You don't need ot accept friend requests or share anything about your self. Use an Avatar name. See it as another mechanism of logging in.

Thanks
Matthias

IMHO this forum and the Facebook group are complementary.
There are users who use only this forum and there are active users mostly on Facebook.
I guess the two groups cannot replace each other one (yet).
Every day is a good day to learn something new.
