QXP 2015: Paragraph Rules

Postby PetarMakedonecot » 20 May 2015, 16:15

Is it possible to add paragraph rules for left and right, beside above and below?
It would be useful for emphasizing text.

Hi PetarMakedonecot, omegaman,

We welcome your suggestions and will look into this. Could you give a visual snapshot of how you think the rules should look into the layout? Also let us know the possible use cases for such rules?

Hi omegaman,

Thanks a lot for the attached illustration. Where all in the layout designing do you think we could use these new paragraph rules?

It can be used in designing newspapers, magazines, whenever a text should be separated and emphasized. Even in a books for quotations or something like that.

Just wanted to mention that I would be in favor of side rules as well. I have used them for callouts and other emphasized text in the flow. Quotes, I have used them before also. I have also used them as "change bars" in programming manuals.
