Graphics Canada Printing Convetion

[strong]Tim OConnor:[/strong]... that just places you in with all the Adobe Idealogues who won't accept anything but the complete and total rejection of anything outside of the Creative Suite. Well, then I guess we can agree (one ideologue to another) that, at the very least, XPress 7's transparency...

[strong]Linda:[/strong]Different strokes for different folks, and an example of the varied world in which we all use the same app for different purposes. Sure. Not everyone needs transparency. Not everyone will need XPress 7. However, I need it, and if you're going to compete with InDesign (and not ...

embedded font overkill

[strong]rzacherl:[/strong]As QuarkXPress 6.x uses no native PDF export as Adobe InDesign does but just prints a PostScript file which get processed by the built-in JAWS PDF Creator library you get the same result as if you would distill the PostScript file. InDesign CS2 encodes fonts the same way Di...

Bill Troop = Quark Lap Dog?

I've been very unimpressed by much of Quark's recent messaging regarding XPress vs. InDesign, especially from writers who ought to know better. This article is another example of a head scratchingly uninformed opinion. InDesign's typography blows XPress away. Period. XPress needs to add OpenType sup...

transpARENT PS IMAGES IN QXP

Many goofballs who have hyped Quark's PSD import have inexplicably failed to note the lack of support for alpha channel transparency, which is actually, by far the most useful aspect of PSD import. I haven't used a clipping path since ID2 was released.

QXP given up - No Resolution - Move to Indesign

[strong]susiecc:[/strong]Cute little program, lots of features. slow as molasses. serious issues with color separations. even more serious issues fonts. redraw issues too. Adobe is in the same boat as Quark when it comes to testing. They can only do so much. I'm still waiting for updates to resolve ...

Proof that no one from Quark reads this board

[strong]sxsw_crewchief:[/strong]Sure, that's what they say now. Quark says a lot of things. How many times was the release of v.5 6 months away? And how long did it really take them to release 5.0? 4 years? Is it any surprise they still don't have support for Unicode fonts in the year 2005? I believ...
