Re: Quark 2015 Crashing / Freezing Windows 10

You may try a few things 1. Delete the preferences & relaunch - Delete the "QuarkXPress 2015" folder inside C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Quark. For detailed steps, see: https://quark.parature.com/link/portal/30026/30029/Article/1390/Rebuilding-Preferences-in-QuarkXPress 2. Try launching with "Run As Admi...

Re: Single page cover and fit to screen

Is there a way to make the front cover a single page on its own? What exactly do you mean? The first page of a facing page document, that shows up in center? Also, how can I make the publication resize as it is currently too large for my laptop. I'm not talking responsive where the text reflows etc...

Re: Use imported footnotes style

The purpose of default styles is to use them to any new items. So one way, as you might have found out is to edit the default style and give it same settings as in your imported style.
You may give different style to text boxes using Style->Footnote Separator Style->Your Style Name.

Re: custom layout

I guess it's related to your another question - viewtopic.php?f=17&t=28881
You should export the image/box as png instead of jpg.

Re: export image only

If the image you created have rounded corners, You should export to a format that supports transparency such as PNG. JPG don't support transparency so you are going to get the white or whatever area at the corners. In fact if the image/box has any such transparent area, e.g. starburst or oval shape ...

Re: Doubt about exporting layout in high resolution

I then select the layout contents, Export selected items as an image and leave the resolution at 72 dpi. This will then be my needed 640 pixel width dimensions. Couldn't be easier. I've let Q do the math--because it (like ID) thinks in 72 pixels per inch for its internal math. Cannot leave resoluti...

Re: Crash on Launch

May be you had set Vivaldi as default browser after you had launched 2015 once. With clean/fresh preferences 2015 also crashed on launch.
Anyways good to have the workaround - set the default browser to Safari/Chrome.

Re: Doubt about exporting layout in high resolution

Your point #1. That is because the image has a different number of pixels when the so-called resolution is set. When exporting for the web or a device, all that matters are the pixel dimensions. This is what it happens when you export a page as image at different ppi from QuarkXPress. Unexpectedly,...

Re: Doubt about exporting layout in high resolution

I have had bad moments due to this limitation 1. I exported the page as png at different resolutions from QuarkXPress. When opened the images directly in browser (Chrome) it wasn't showing them at same size. 2. Some mobile application builder app had a limit on image and it didn't accept the larger ...

Re: iframes??

Hey, did you get it sorted out?
AFAIK, you may generate output from QuarkXPress as html5 but it's all up to you how you host it and take it to web.
