Re: Quark 10: converting black 1-bit images to CMYK in PDF

Thanks Mike for taking the time to post this - that is very useful. It sounds like it may be one of these issue; RESOLVED: I you import Grayscale images with profiles assigned and the picture box background is set to None, the images are outputting in all the plates when it should be outputting in t...

Re: Quark 10: converting black 1-bit images to CMYK in PDF

Hi Mike - thanks for your reply. What I meant was that I checked it was black (picture colour) rather than the customer had accidentally coloured it RGB or CMYK (or Registration colour) by mistake. The background colour is set to None rather than White but that shouldn't matter. Good shout about the...

Quark 10: converting black 1-bit images to CMYK in PDF

Hi all A customer is running Quark 10.0r1 on Windows and is supplying a PDF of a cover with a barcode printing out of CMYK rather than black. We can fix this easily enough in the PDF but I asked to see the files to check what was going wrong and fix it for future covers. I confirmed the barcode tif ...

Re: Quark 10.5.2.4 download?

Sorry for the late reply - I didn't get notified about your replies. The download worked and I am now running 10.5.2.4 - many thanks Jiri. The problem I was trying to fix was that the customer was using a line (1-bit) image coloured black only and it was exporting to PDF as a CMYK black. I confirmed...

Quark 10.5.2.4 download?

Hi all I have to troubleshoot a customer's Q10 file and after upgrading to Sierra our Q10 will not run. Not really a problem for us as we have Quark 2016 but our customer is using Q10 and I need to troubleshoot a cover file for them. I believe an (unsupported) version of Quark 10 was released to wor...

Anyone running Quark 7 on Yosemite?

Hi all We are running Quark 10.52 on OSX 10.10.5 but I would like to keep Quark 7 on there too if possible to process jobs created in Quark 6 and 7. I know it is not supported but I got it to install okay (and update to 7.5) but it never asked me for serial number or validation codes so ran in demo ...

Re: problem with converting RGB PDFs to CMYK on output

UtahLlama - I think that is probably what I'm going to have to do but I was hoping I wouldn't need to.

thanks

Re: problem with converting RGB PDFs to CMYK on output

Thanks for your reply Max. I know I could convert the resulting PDF to CMYK a number of ways but I really want Quark to do it. Seems like it should (does normally) but just not for this one PDF. I want to be able to trust Quark doing this so I don't need to worry about it. Has anyone else seen this ...
