Re: New Problem making PDFs

I also have this problem - mainly with EPS files, often the same image (like a logo used on every page) sometimes is ok, sometimes is cut off, sometimes does not print at all. I find exporting the pages as single page PDFs helps but even this has cut off and missing errors, I would be interested to ...

Very slow initial save

Hi all, wonder if anyone can help. When I open a large Quark file to work on, the first time I save it takes a very long time (approx. 3 minutes), subsequent saves are much faster and not a problem - this happens on most documents. I believe it is an image cache issue, I think when Quark changed the...

Paste but retain style sheets

Hi all, Can someone help to save me a lot of time?! I have two documents with multiple paragraph style sheets. The style sheets are called the same in both documents but have different fonts Catalogue A is in english, Catalogue B is in Hungarian and uses a central european font. So, I copy multiple ...

EPS and AI image issues resolved

Hi all I've had lots of problems with QXP2018 rendering complex eps and ai images - causing QXP to run so slowly as to be almost unusable. I had previously used Quark since version 4 and upgraded from 9.5 to 2018 earlier this year. I raised a support ticket with Quark and after many conversations I ...

Re: script for replacing images

Hi Jean-Marie

Many thanks indeed.

The images have the same filename, so image1.eps becomes image1.psd but located in a different folder.

Re: script for replacing images

Hi Matthias I am very sorry, I keep saying this, but some complex eps files are not supported properly - they cause all sorts of problems in performance and pdf output. I have sent you some example files many times and said this to you many times on this forum also. Quark Support have told me that t...

script for replacing images

Hi all, I have a document with over 400 eps images.... eps images are not supported in QXP2018 and so I have gone through the task of converting them all to .ai and then to .psd images. I have removed the old eps images and I wonder if there is a script I could run to replace all the eps images with...

Re: .eps versus .ai images

Hi Matthias Complex EPS images are very much NOT okay! I think you have been copied in with all the correspondence from Ticket #84582. A Palaniappan and Rajwinder have been dealing with this and have sent the issue on to Quark R&D - EPS also cause large problems with image cache and cause very poor ...

Re: .eps versus .ai images

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated and all very informative. The eps files were all made using illustrator, so if eps has these issues (as it's regarded as legacy), then I do have a few options to convert them. 1. convert all to .ai files. 2. convert all to illustrator pdfs 3. export them all ...
