If it was easy, then everyone would be doing it

Yes, I do understand. That's why the program is deliberately made to be difficult. I do understand the concept of elitist exclusivity. I believe I'm the one who brought it up.

Okay then... well. I hate learning new and alien things. I hate learning. I hate new things. I hate aliens. I just generally hate things. My kingdom for some commomality between programs. Some vague kind of shared aesthetic, so that you aren't stepping into a completely alien world whenever you go f...

But I'm something of an aviation enthusiast, and this is hardly the place for that. Just because you don't get it straight away...

I think what's really going on here is that you want to do what you want to do the way you want to do it. This is not an irrational sentiment. Well, whatever it is you think about us or QuarkXPress your opinion of the program is not going to change the industry. Granted, but is this not a forum? Be...

Actually the "comparison" was an aside, secondary to my real point, and had more to do with user-friendliness than actual function. My point that I could produce the same kind of work from programs that aren't designed to do it in a fraction of the time was a criticism of the level of unnecessary co...

Yeah, I should have known not to voice dissent in a geek-haven like this
Sarcastic and barbed remarks from folk who sit on computers all day... should really have seen that coming.

Sure, Mr. Defensive.
But none of that changes the fact that it's an incredibly, needlessly complicated exercise to do anything in Quark and it's completely turned me off the industry. Which is quite an achievement, because I used to wipe old men's butts for a living.
