Re: Massive Font List

Windows has "bloat fonts" too. Windows bloat fonts cannot uninstalled. You can hide them in the Windows Fonts folder but they still show in Quark. Can this be fixed so Quark ignores these hidden fonts?

Re: Warning: Quark 2020 is now a subscription plan model

Not much to add, except to second some valid points made. 1) Quark should not, under any circumstances, auto-update to a version beyond your Advantage Plan end date and then terminate access after a trial period without a very, very simple way to roll back to your previous paid version. No exception...

Re: Page break is possible in QXP after all

If I understand what you are trying to do, there is a very simple solution in Quark. Use the Enter Key on the Number Pad. This keystroke is actually a column break, but I also use it to create page breaks when the text boxes are linked. In hidden characters, you will see a downward pointing arrow. I...

Re: Problem with Measurements taskbar in Quark 2019

The following are stand alone fixes, not 4 connected steps. I put them in the order of most convenient. :-) One or more of them may clear your problem temporarily. 1) Click on any tool on the tool pallet. 2) Move the measurement pallet slightly and let go to make it snap to the edge. 3) Change the p...

Re: Spell Check Misses stuff

The latest version of QX2019 (QX15.2.3) still does not have the spell check fixed.
They did fix it in QX2020.

There are a few other bugs in QX2019 that they fixed in QX2020 but not in QX2019.
They need to patch QX2019!

Re: No "Undo" or "Redo"

I'm on Win10, so not the same, but I've never seen this glitch in Quark. There are certain things that can't be undone, but in general, things like delete, cut, paste, move, etc. can be undone and redone. Really, you should open a ticket with support and get help.

Re: Font Collect for Output issue: exporting loads more fonts than used in the doc

I completely agree. Including fonts not used in the actual document is dumb, confusing and will lead to many errors. Why collect all fonts in the font family, when maybe only two are used? Why collect fonts from unused master pages? Why collect fonts from unused Style Sheets? - I can hardly believe ...

Re: What a true perpetual license would mean

Quark is putting patches (fixes to bugs) into version updates. These updates also contain "Features". According to the download page, you don't get to download an update unless you are a current Advantage Plan Member. That means your version will be perpetually defective unless you perpetually subsc...

Re: Hyperlink fills the whole page

Here are two methods that sometimes fix a problem file: 1) Create a new QX project and then File> Append> select the problem file and then Open> choose Layout and Include All> OK etc. - Test the new file. 2) Create a new QX project and change the view to thumbnail. Open the problem document and chan...
