Problem with Quark 2018 scripting and measurement units

On page 42 of the Guide to Apple Events Scripting (http://files.quark.com/download/documentation/QuarkXPress/2018/english/Apple-Events-Scripting.pdf), it says: For example, if the horizontal measure is set to inches, you can coerce the returned value to points by using get page width as point units ...

Scripting bug in Quark 9.5.4.1?

The following script runs fine: tell application "QuarkXPress" set s to style sheet of paragraph 1 of story 1 of document 1 end tell But running this (very similar) script causes Quark to crash: script theRealScript tell application "QuarkXP...

No measurements from Quark 9.2 on OS X 10.7?

You can workaround using the verb "coerce." So to make my example above return the same result as under 10.6.8, it would be changed to: tell application "QuarkXPress"set h to page height of document 1 coerce(h) to stringend tellYou can also coerce the returned value to an integer or real, rather tha...

Quark 9.2.1 & 10.7 - Can't make «data» into type r

"coerce" is the magic verb that makes this work on 10.7
In your example above, replace
return top of bounds as realwith
set t to top of boundsreturn coerce(t) to real...and it should work.

No measurements from Quark 9.2 on OS X 10.7?

It appears there's a problem with retrieving measurements using Quark 9.2 on OS X 10.7. This can be demonstrated by running a simple script like this from AppleScript Editor: tell application "QuarkXPress"page height of document 1end tellIf run under 10.6.8, this will return a usuable value like 8.5...
