Re: Quark 10: converting black 1-bit images to CMYK in PDF

version 10.0 had some issues with colour management hierarchy not working as expected, I take it that PDFX 1a you are using is using cmyk or cmyk+spot as its output colour space, both of these output colour spaces would bug and force through profile to profile conversions overriding the other suppos...

Re: Quark 10.5.2.4 download?

I can't find any link to any v10 quark anymore. I seem to remember being unable to install v10 with Sierra. think there was a sudo hack to tell the mac that 10.12 was actually 10.9 If it helps to know I have 10.5.2.0 carried through upgrades Through Yosemite to El Capitan and High Sierra and it will...

Re: Is FONT USAGE dialog ever going to be fixed?

:lol: :lol: :lol: To surmise When people didn't know what to press or not to get the bold font there were lots of people getting faux bold, quark have now made it less likely that people who don't know what they are doing will get faux bold. :idea: :idea: :idea: :D People who did know what they were...

Re: Returning to XPress

rather than update, you could place the new graphic, Quark should give you the option of holding the size and position of the original graphic.

Re: Returning to XPress

Hi Erik happy to hear you have a new job. I've been through redundancy due to company closure 3 times myself, but couldn't be happier where I've ended up, so hope it works out as well for you. Since version 8.5 its been really rare that I've processed production jobs using Quark, I have kept my hand...

Re: Option drag duplicate destroys object hierarchy

I tried to insta...

Re: IDML-Import -> profile lacking

I think Image Profile information is one of the things lost when converting indd to idml. I think when opening idml InDesign assumes images are treated as the Colour Prefences are set. I've certainly been gotcha'd by opening idml and finding clipping paths assigned to an image are no longer assigned...

Re: Moving from Mac to PC...

biggest issue will be fonts, there are Mac Applications that can convert Mac Fonts to ttf for PC, its not a perfect solution and you'll probably still need theUSB (till your IT Dept ban that too :evil: ). On the Plus side Microsoft Office docs will open up and save more predictably :D Dell Monitors ...
