Re: Font Export Failure to PDF

OK. So here are the listed fonts in Q that you mentioned. I didn't change the name as all I did was regenerate the fonts, though I did fix one internal name for the Light as it clashed with the Regular version. Be sure to back up your versions. With nothing running using the fonts (font manager, Q, ...

Re: Font Export Failure to PDF

I'll modify the light and regular versions. I do have to change the name according to the license, though. But I'll also ping a Q developer to see if this can be fixed for the long-term. I'll upload a ZIP file of the modified fonts here on the forum unless the ZIP is too large. In that case I'll upl...

Re: Font Export Failure to PDF

I have no idea why the font works elsewhere. Which fonts in the family are you using? I think the license permits me to alter them. It may only be a matter of a minute or two for each one to make them work.

Re: Font Export Failure to PDF

Hi Anthony,

I don't specifically remember why they fail, but I did make the regular style export fine from Q by editing the font. I'll try to figure it out again and see if it can be fixed in Q by Sirish or whomever is doing font work now.

Re: script for replacing images

Hi Mark, I don't know about an AppleScript. But Jo Lauterback Software has an XTension that I believe would do what you want. It's relatively inexpensive. I also don't have a Mac, so I don't have it. But you can relink images based upon a change in a file extension from what I read in their PDF. I h...

Re: Outline type

Hi Jim,

I've attached a ZIP with a revised document. I swapped out the font to Arial--I was too lazy to load Helv.

What I did and how to make changes is in a text box with screen shots.

Re: Outline type

Hi Jim,

For text that has been converted to curves/outlines/boxes, you should be able to just select it and use the Colors panel.

If that doesn't work, would you consider making a zip file and uploading it here?

Re: Outline type

Here's a screen shot. If you convert type to "Boxes"(curves) in Q, the outline, once it is of a certain weight (thickness) overwhelms the characters, closing off some details of the font. If you leave the type "Live"(so is still editable as text), you can add the same weight of stroke (line weight/t...

Re: Outline type

A font has no internal outline to begin with. But you can add a stroke to the text after it has been converted and have a different color than the inside part of the text. One can also add a stroke to live text, but as that stroke only can have a "middle" position, once the weight of the outline beg...
