Re: Quark2015 can't preview color correctly yet Quark 9 can

Thanks Matthias for your reply. 1) Yes I have a workaround, Adobe RGB1998 which is reasonably close, although I have to export the document as a pdf to properly check color accuracy. 2) I don't mind if Quark takes some time to fix it, although it should be noted that 4 months have passed since the s...

Quark2015 can't preview color correctly yet Quark 9 can

I opened a ticket 30026-63878 (november 2014) for Quark10.5 with the problem, Quark preview shows incorrect color with 16 bit/color images when using hardware accelerated monitors ( eg NEC3090) Quark replied on 2 January 2015, I would like to inform you that we have analyzed the issue and recognised...

Re: paragraph spacing lost when exporting to pdf

I found a work-around. I create separate text blocks for the problem paragraphs, and define the paragraph spacing for each text block.

Thanks for your effort and interest.

Re: paragraph spacing lost when exporting to pdf

I think it is part of a wider problem. If I apply the style to the whole story then all seems OK and I can adjust the inter-paragraph spacing to a fractional amount. But if I want to apply a different style to individual paragraphs then it behaves weirdly. For instance. In a narrow text block ie a j...

paragraph spacing lost when exporting to pdf

Using quark 10.5 and a style sheet whose format has auto leading with a 6pt spacing before a paragraph, the exported pdf document has lost the extra spacing.
how to keep the extra spacing before a paragrah?

Re: As IS what does it mean

Thanks a lot Ipisanec for that information. I do not know how to check what image profiles are being embedded or not embedded with the images in the exported pdf. I don't know how to find this information in Acrobat. What I did notice is that the exported pdf image using AS IS in Quark 10.5 ( or 9.5...

Re: As IS what does it mean

My canon 1Dx camera converts at 14 bits per color, so I would like to keep resolution for as long as possible in the work flow, converting to 8 bits/color for the final stage.

Re: As IS what does it mean

Its a pity that the 16 bit format cannot be maintained through the work flow. Hopefully Quark will include it their next major upgrade.
