Re: Appalling customer service
I cannot disagree with Ben Nevis more,as UtahLlama says, he sounds like a bot. I have found Quark Customer Services the best I have ever come across. I've contacted Customer service a couple of times through the on-line chat. On each occasion they tried hard to help me, even to the point of an engin...

Re: Applying line screens to images
Thanks for your answer. So line screens no more, eh? As it is I have persuaded the client to put her grotty image/s on the back cover instead of the front. She even has a 72dpi one she wanted to enlarge to 600dpi. "I did it in Photoshop and it looks okay on screen". I printed it off and got nasty or...

Re: Applying line screens to images
Hi Mike As I recall it was in QXP 3 and onwards and definitely not an extension. I think I last used it in QXP5. Which was my favourite, never crash QXP, even under Rhapsody, so I used it in preference the dreadful QXP6 and until Rhapsody was no more. I'm finding the latest version QXP2019 is fast b...

Re: Applying line screens to images
Hi and thanks for your reply. Doesn't your suggestion apply the screen to every image? There used to be an option under the item menu. As I recall it was item modify (Command-M my fingers tell me). You were able to select individual images and adjust the screen and view the result on screen. It look...

Re: Possible to Sync Master Pages in a Book
I'm currently doing a long book, split into 6 sections and 8 documents, all controlled by the book pallet. For each document start with a blank master document, with auto pagination (Command-3) set up in the Page Layout pallet's Master page/s. You can use the New Project from Ticket option after you...

Applying line screens to images
You used to be able to apply a line screen (and other options) to individual images, setting screen frequency and angle. It was especially useful to counteract moiré effects or mask a bad image's limitations. It was also a useful tool to apply 'artistic effects" with coarse a 30 lpi screen at 45 or ...

Re: Missing Images
What happens when you click "Show"? Does it show you the pasteboard area, but nothing is selected? If you click Cancel then command-K, does the "missing" image go away? Or will it still be there next time you check with the picture utility? Brilliant! Thanks for the tip. I wonder why this occurs, B...

Re: Cursor acts strangely in QuarkXPress 2018 14.0.1
Since updating QXP 2018 (Mac) to 14.0.1, the cursor is behaving strangely. I cannot resize text boxes, and the text cursor flickers alternatively with the pointer tool. is there a .plist preference file that can be deleted/replaced? If so, where is it located? Added @ 2:40 MST: Trying to choose or ...

Re: Font management / Extensis Suitcase
Hi, Just copy your existing ExtensisFontManagementQXT2017.xnt and drag it to /Library/Application Support/Quark/QuarkXPress_2018/Xtensions. Blimey! Just found this in December 2019 and thought I would give it a try. Dragged the required file ExtensisFontManagementQXT2015.xnt to the Quark2018 folder...
