Opening tag for 7.5 import of Xpress tag?

If you have 7.5 available, save some text from it as Xpress tags, and the opening tags will be at the top of the file. (I don't have 7.5 available, otherwise I'd just post the opening line).

.doc Files and QuarkXPress

When you tried the import, did you have a text box selected with the content tool? If no text box is selected, the import option might be grayed out.

Does QuarkXpress have an import file format that can handle

You mentioned that you though that some versions of ID could export directly to QX? I am aware that one can import QX quite well but cannot find any reference to this export feature. Would you have any further details in this regard? My apologies, I was confused about this...as you say, ID can impo...

Does QuarkXpress have an import file format that can handle

Some versions of ID can save directly to Quark 4, so if the ID file already exists this might be an easy solution. For tagged text, Quark uses Xpress tags, which are covered in various Help documents that come with the software. Xpress tags can handle typographical tags, but they won't lay out a doc...

Web Output Image Resolution

Choosing to export images as JPEGs offers the option of setting image quality on the highest-to-lowest scale. With a picture box selected, choose Modify from under Item in the menu bar, and select the Export pane of the Modify dialog to view various settings. I don't don't see an option to set this ...

3 Page wide layout. Is this possible? If so How?

Possibly your pages exceed a width limit? I just tried it again, with 3 letter-size pages in non-facing page layout, and had no trouble. I'm using 6.52 on a Mac.

3 Page wide layout. Is this possible? If so How?

I think pages can simply be dragged around in the Page Layout palette (from under the Window menu). Start with non-facing pages (or even facing pages), and drag 3 pages alongside each other.

Styles Not Working

Generally, cleaning up overrides means that all overrides are removed. However, some overrides have to be returned after the cleanup. For instance, if someone has taken a paragraph and made it justified, double-spaced, and blue, and there is an important word in italic right in the middle of the par...

Styles Not Working

The plus sign next to the style name indicates the presence of style overrides. Overrides are local, character-level formats that differ from the spec of the paragraph style. It is very common for text brought in from Word to have these overrides, in part because the text in Word itself contains ove...

How to: Export logo to a windows word document

My old version of Word can import EPS and PDF documents, both formats that are pretty easy to produce from a Quark document. An EPS can be added to Word's clip art gallery by going to the menu bar and choosing Insert/Picture/Clip art... , then choosing Import... and then just choosing the EPS. Or th...
