Option tab with charter fill

I have a feeling you can't script this... It's been a while since I used or scripted Quark, but I think you have to export the text with XPress Tags, edit it in a scriptable editor (Text Wrangler?), using the XPress Tag for option tab, and re-import it into Quark. It's not as hard as it sounds, and ...

script search for text in table

I haven't got Quark handy, so I can't help with the tables. But I can see one immediate problem: All of your repeat addresses 'document 1'. You need to change this to 'document i' every time it appears (otherwise it will just search document 1, i times!) Tab and return are called simply that - e.g. ...

Need a Complicated Script for Quark 8.5 to Reference an Exte

Unfortunately I can't find the script I wrote. But it seems the first thing you need to be able to do is isolate the Part Number (i.e. column 1): If you have columns of text, tabbed, and you want to look up the value of the 1st column, you need to be able to 'address' it. If the part number includes...

Need a Complicated Script for Quark 8.5 to Reference an Exte

It's a fine book too! Don't hold your breath, I'm very out of practice with this now - don't use Quark at all any more. You can tell Quark that 'words can begin and end with' only tabs, then you can address 'word 3' of a line, knowing that it will actually look at the third tab. I'll find my script ...

I did something like this a long, long time ago. It's certainly possible. I'll see what I can dig out at home...

Rubbish hexadecimal values....

My this is embarrassing. First time I attempt to script Quark in my new workplace on laptop running 10.8.4, Quark 8.5.1, and I'm getting nonsense properties, e.g. left point:data FPMS486893001FBB7D00. I have told Applescript to open in 32 bit. Is there something else I should do that I've forgotten?...

Well since you've had no replies and I haven't been here for ages, how about this:Are you drawing on a page or a spread? Are your measurements by page or spread? Can you post the offending bit of script?

Split a text flow into separate boxes

Not entirely ok no! My employer has called in Administrators, which basically means they have 2 weeks to restructure and sell it or wind it up.
5 people made redundant yesterday. So scripting will have to wait. No idea if this job will even go ahead now. It's all a bit rubbish.
