How do I turn color management off in Quark 7?

I need to turn color management off in order to get correct color from myEpson Stylus Pro 4000 running through a Colorburst Rip. In Quark 6 this was easy (turn CMS off) but I can't figure out how to do it in 7, and as a result all prints come out with a very marked red cast. When the same file is pr...

Paragraph-based justificationj

I hate to say this, but InDesign's paragraph-based justification (with the ability to switch off in any given paragraph) REALLY improves the look of the typesetting when you are doing books, etc

Footnote problem

I already have the Word 6 2000 filter. It doesn't help. Curiously, if I save the Word document dowm to Word 5 using MacLink plus, i can then open it nicely in Quark 4.11... Then save and reopen it in Quark 6 or 7. What a run around! An editor at a large publishing house we work for tells me it's a W...

fuzzy photos when printing from Quark 6.1

It sounds like you're not printing to a postscript printer. Is that so?

Quark prints light with iproof RIP

We are having a problem with Quark 6.5 printing to an Epson Stylus photo 2200 via an iproofx RIP. We used to get proof quality colors, printing with CMS turned off, but now everything prints quite a bit too light. It's not a rip or a printer problem, since if we save the Quark dcoument as an eps, an...

TOO SLOW! Quark please listen!

In response to your post about importing rather than pasting: I always import, (and always have in the past) so I don't think that's the problem. I think it must be something to do with the screen redraw, because, as someone else mentioned, things seem to get just aysmally slow when text gets bumped...

How to Speed Up 7.1?

It's so slow that it hurts my productivity hugely. I typeset books and am paid per page. I'm losing money like water out of a cup. I would go back to Quark 6.5, but can't with documents requiring Unicode fonts. Seems like I'm going to have to use InDesign for these, which I hugely regret...

TOO SLOW! Quark please listen!

This isn't so much a question as a very strong statement. But I guess it's also a cry for help! I have been using Quark happily since version 2, and have never been one of these great shouting complainers, but the slowness of Quark 7 is just beyond the pale. It feels like working on my old MAC SE 15...
