Re: Colormanagement and Mavericks

As a follow-up to the discussion on colour management in QuarkXPress, I still find that screen soft proofs with selected output colour print profiles are way off showing correct colours. See below two screenshots. One with proof output "As Is" the other with a defined printer/paper profile. Hoppy. h...

Re: Drop Caps in 10.2

Hi, Your question started me on a search for Drop Caps. It took a while but you will find it on the Paragraph tab just to the right of the H&J box.

Hope this helps.

Re: Quark 10 Colour Management Broken?

Been waiting patiently for 10.2. Unfortunately soft proofing with print ICC profiles still yields incorrect on screen colours - way too much magenta. This was an issue that was raised with Quark last year and it was agreed as an issue - but it appears not to have been fixed.

Quark 10 Color Profile

I can confirm that Quark 10 has problems with ICC Colour Profiles. I have an open ticket with Quark Support because Quark 10 soft proofs give incorrect colours when proofing with ICC profiles (for output to a pro inkjet printer). The same ICC profiles give different - more accurate - results when us...

Installer Error Updating to QXP 10.0.1

Tried updating QXP10.0.0.1 (I think) it might have been .02 - Anyway it was the latest version before the 10.0.1 release. Right towards the end of the update the installer quits with an error saying cannot complete the installation. This occurs using both the updater and manually downloaded versions...

Quark 10 Colour Management Broken?

I have existing Quark 9 projects with imported images. I have output profiles for proofing for my printer and paper. The display emulation of proof output is OK in Quark V9 but way out when using the same profile in Quark 10. In particular, skin tones are rendered far to red.(I should add that the im...

Picking a colour from a picture

In version 8 it was possible to use picture effects to show the component values of a colour under the mouse pointer. This has now disappeared from V9. Is there another way to determine colour values from an image imported into QuarkXpress? Thanks, Hoppy.

Exporting pages as jpeg images

In a previous version (v8) I could output pages as jpeg files. I can't find a way of doing this in V9. Is this possible? If so how. Thanks, Hoppy

Pricing Structure of new App Studio

The previous App Studio pricing included discounts for charities (non-profit) organisations. Are there similar arrangements for the new App Studio? I am hoping to get a church magazine published as an app so would appreciate any info on this.ThanksHoppy.
