Re: Quark 10 Measurement Coercion

Thanks! I thought that was what I was going to find, but thought I would double check. I don't have much hope that anything in Quark that is currently "broken" will ever be fixed.

Quark 10 Measurement Coercion

Hi, It has been a long time since I have been on this forum. I realize that this issue is an oldie but a goodie, but I thought I would ask about it here in case someone has any other tips. I am having to add coercions in for all measurements. I was able to save my apps as 32-bit only in Mac OS 10.6/...

Incorrect Style Sheet Names

Jean-Marie, Thanks for the help! I think this affects about 200 files in this batch but could touch quite a number of more. Unfortunately, I probably can't ask the group I work with to recreate these files with a thumbnail drag. I found that I can export to Xtags and have the correct paragraph style...

Upgrade to Mountain Lion 10.8/Quark 9

My company is considering an upgrade to Mac OS X Mountain Lion (10.8) and QuarkXPress 9. We are currently running Mac OS X 10.6 with QuarkXpress 8.1. I am trying to assess what major impacts there will be for this upgrade. Are there any major known AppleScript issues with 10.8 and Quark 9? Thanks, J...

Chevron class syntax

Chevron class syntax

When I run the following script as an application, I am expecting to see "style spec" as the result in the display dialog, instead I am getting >. If I run the script from Script Debugger, I have no problem and get the correct result. The same issue is ocurring with other properties as well, but the...

Snow Leopard/QuarkXpress

Hello all, I have posted this issue in other forums and had some suggestions, but thought I would see what the Quark/AppleScript forum had to say. I am having an issue with AppleScripts that I am migrating from 10.5 to 10.6. The scripts work fine on 10.5. But under Snow Leopard, the code is causing ...

From 6.5 to 8 Script not working

What sort of error are you getting? Are you using Quark 8.1 or 8.5? I am having problems with Quark 6 to 8.1 scripts. My script is failing on some computers, but not consistently, with the open command. The error has been "Cant make some data into the expected type." Jeff Walters Pearson Assessments

Quark 6.52 and Intel iMac Breaks Dimensions

To fix this issue on an Intel Mac...

Save the script as "application" rather than "application bundle" in Script Editor.

Or in Script Debugger, save it as "Application (Carbon)" rather than "Application (Bundle)".
