Quark 7 save to Quark 6

I am looking for someone who has QuarkXPress 7 installed on a Windows PC. I am trying to down-save a document, version by version, from Quark 9 to Quark 4 (!). I have successfully down-saved it from 9 to 8, then from 8 to 7, but do not have 7 installed, so I can't open it in 7 and down-save it 6. I ...

Re: Loading XTensions, QXP16 on Windows Server 2008 R2

Quark development support pointed us to a free application named Dependency Walker.
When we installed this and pointed it to the XTensions, it showed that a .dll was missing that the XTensions required.
Once we located that .dll and installed it, the XTensions loaded successfully.

Loading XTensions, QXP16 on Windows Server 2008 R2

Our company creates QuarkXPress XTensions for the publishing industry. We have a customer that just upgraded to QuarkXPress 2016. The version is 12.2.1. These XTensions load successfully on multiple Windows 7 workstations. However, on a Windows Server 2008 R2, the same XTensions result in the error ...

QuarkXPress version 9.10.0.0

We provide support for a number of customers using various versions of QuarkXPress. I recently checked the version numbers of such customers and found one for which Help --> About QuarkXPress showed on the splash screen: Version 9.10.0.0. Has anyone else seen this strange version number? I suspect i...

Re: TempPDF files

I did some experiments and found out the following: If you make a new QXP document, draw a picture box, do Get Picture and choose a PDF that is on your local computer, the TempPDF#### file is NOT created in C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Local\Temp\###\jaws####. But if you do the same but choose a PDF ...

TempPDF files

We are running QuarkXPress 9.5.4.1 in a Windows environment. If you open a Quark Project (.qxp) that contains picture boxes with PDFs in them, as soon as you click on File --> Print, Quark creates a file named "tempPDF###" with a unique number for each and every PDF in the Quark Project, in the fold...

Re: Non-support support

In e-mail from Matthias, learned that issue supposedly was resolved in release of QXP 10.5. Downloaded updater, installed it and found that the problem really was resolved. I am delighted that it has been fixed. I am far from delighted with how the fix was made. If a customer submits an issue, with ...

Non-support support

I submitted a ticket to the Support Portal on Oct. 16 that described a repeatable problem with Quark 10. I also sent multiple attachments that clearly showed the problem: If you open a document in Quark 9 that was made in Quark 4, save it as a Quark 9 document, then open that document in Quark 10, t...

Re: Document Converter results not acceptable

The original Quark 4 document, opened in Quark 9, looks fine. I saved it as a Quark 9 document, then reopened it in Quark 9, and it looks fine. I opened the Quark 9 document in Quark 10 and it has the same problems as when run through the Document Converter -- images with red backgrounds, images tha...
