Backsaving

The backsave is a bad ideal, If enough new features were added to a software, in which case QX was long overdue for some features, backsaving would cause unexpected results in which case people would be bitching that the software messed up the file when it was backsaved. This is the reason why backs...

Buyer Beware

Moonlite, Follow your own advice about not saying anything if you have nothing good to say. "Isn't it amazing that so many "unhappy" QuarkXPress users hang out in these forums? Why not head over to the Adobe forums, you will find several more unhappy people there and you can be one big miserable fam...

Gas Prices

I agree. For the self employed designer running a small business, it has put a hurt on me. I have to redjust my pricing which makes my customers not as happy. We really need to look at Brazil. They have found alternative ways around being oil dependent. While I am Republican, I do not agree with the...

QuarkxPress vs pagemaker

I will not complain about my pricing at all. I joined the ASN (Adobe Service Providers Network) and believe me it was well worth the yearly fee.

Anyone running a printing service can become eligible. I would suggest checking into it.

QuarkxPress vs pagemaker

I have to agree with Jim. Upgrading to InDesign CS would be much cheaper than upgrading to Quark 6. The learning curve would not be as different especially with the PM plug-ins for InDesign. You can open PM 6 to 7 fils with InDesign as well.

IMO, InDesign offers you a better solution.

Upgrade worth it?

Download the trial version of Quark 6 and InDesign CS. See which one you like better.

Can I re-create this web page with Quark?

The particular page was created with MS Frontpage. You would be better off trying to recreate this with Dreamweaver or GoLive.

What WE think of QUARK, simply the greatest program EVER

I prefer InDesign, but would never do this on the Quark forum. I am sad to see that people can be so stupid.

Can't make any PDF file

Make sure you choose a ps printer in the chooser. Direct your export feature to the actrobat ppd and you should be fine.
