Hyperlinks scrambled in OSX Preview, OK in Acrobat

OSX 10.4.11, Quark 7.31 When viewing a PDF in Preview.app, created using "Export > Layout as PDF," hyperlinks get more than a little random. A couple of them work as intended, most go to the wrong destination, and some don't work at all. The same PDF in Acrobat Reader works properly, the first insta...

Top Ten List of Customer/Ad Rep Annoyances

Hey all. I'm not in publishing just a tech writer in the telecomm industry but I think you guys could relate to some of these: Several people from different departments have emailed me a PDF file, asking "can you get the Word file back out of this?" I eventually convince tech support to get Acrobat ...

Hyperlinks to other files in a book?

Is it possible? I have to refer to other chapters in a book, and have a "menu bar" in the header to provide quick access to any major topic. All I need is a way to make them work.

Am I going to have to dump the book idea & combine all the files together to make this work?

File doesn't want to repair (v7.3)

Hooray, one down, N to go! (It also works with tables, but I'll bet you knew that.)

I don't suppose there's a migration guide? I've downloaded several of the tutorials, but they don't answer the questions I have, or don't do it quickly.

File doesn't want to repair (v7.3)

I've worked around the problem by exporting text to tags and importing into a fresh project. Migman: I exported the FM files to RTF, using a plug-in called MIF2Go. After Quark choked on a couple of those, I opened the RTF files in TextEdit and copy/pasted into Quark (which turned out to be the bette...

File doesn't want to repair (v7.3)

MacBook Pro, OSX 10.4.9, QXP 7.3 I'm attempting to migrate a user's guide from FrameMaker to Quark, and it's not going as smoothly as I'd like. I won't go into what enhancements (I think) are needed to the long-document features, at least here, but I need help with a corrupted project file. Any time...
