Michel, had a script that changed the language settings of Passport documents (6.5) to a single user defined choice so they could be opened with non passport versions of the app. I never went past V6.5 but maybe there is still a requirement to do this before saving?

Spotlight may be able to read the required metadata in for you You can do the via a call to shell script using 'mdls' this should be OK for use with a script placing the images Quark does not have events scripting (I should say did not have events Im V6.5) such as a onplaceimage do something etc.
