I can confirm this...I used the exact same colours and same formats. In all cases I did not convert to CMYK...I kept the colours as Pantones. The AI file/colours came out completely wrong. The preview of Reflex blue came out PINK, and when I printed to PDF or Saved to PDF, the colours changed to 100...

FILE...EXPORT..Layout as PDF.
Save as file type...PDF
Click on "Options"...then "Marks".
Under the Registration maks MODE...select "Centered"

If you chose to print out to PDF, then under the Print settings, there is the same "Marks" dialogue selection.

Did you import any text from a Microsoft Word document?
This issue can be caused by using a font that has licensing restrictions. You can try to replace the fonts in your document ans see if you can save the file without crashing.

You might want to post this in Apple's Final Cut Pro's user forum...Final Cut pro is not a Quark product.
(BTW...one option is to purchase the Quicktime MPG playback component...though FCP should have come with it, another is to use Handbrake to convert to another format.)
