I do not know which Windows OS are you using (2000 or XP) but you need to setup a virtual postscript printer. Basically go to the panel from where you install your printer. Quark 5 was not tested for Windows XP but there are several people who are using it just fine.

What operating system are you using? Do you have more than one versions of QuarkXPress installed on your system?

Do you have QuarkXPress or QuarkXPress Passport? There is a different updater for each one of these. Hope you are downloading the correct one.

Is this happening with any of the QuarkXPress 6 files you try to save as a version 5 file? Try making a new file and down save it to version 5 and see if you the same problem. Go to the QuarkXPress folder and rename the Preferences folder to something like 'OldPreferences' and try launching the application. Might help.

Have you checked the Suitcase Preferences in the Utilities Menu for QuarkXPress?

You could also try matching the settings for Suitcase on the Powerbook with your G5 and even try copying the Suitcase preferences over.
