Forget my previous post. I wrote too soon. Still trying to find a solution to your problem.

Retain local type styles does not work

It's very simple. You MUST select "Include Style Sheets" when importing Word documents. That's why you're losing all local styling when you apply a new style.

Dear GLUON. I always enjoy testing out the features of new XPress XTensions, even the rarely used features. In the long run, we both benefit. Thanks for your speedy reply.

I appreciate the gift. Too bad it doesn't work correctly. Very buggy, especially after option clicking the iDropper icon. Mac OS 10.5.8, XPress 9.1

Anchoring a picture box in text

Also, if the text inset of the text box is "0" the anchored box can be the SAME width as the text box as long as the left and right runaround is "0"

Anchoring a picture box in text

I make the leading of the anchored box paragraph "AUTO." (The paragraphs with text have absolute values for leading such as 14 pt.) That way it won't overlap any copy, without having to fiddle with leading amounts.

Picture boxes flowing in text

I assume you're talking about anchored picture boxes.
Make sure that the anchored picture boxes are on their own line and followed by a return. And that your leading for the anchored picture box paragraph is AUTO.
I hope this helps.
