Proof that no one from Quark reads this board

[strong]sxsw_crewchief:[/strong]And there's no plan to support them.

According to Quark, OpenType support is coming in v7.

X-Ray Magazine

Yes, that's really the issue. All the bellicose chest thumping and bluster is pretty unseemly when the emperor has no clothes. On the plus side, the magazine looks very good, and whoever designed it deserves some kudos.

X-Ray Magazine

[strong]Jim Oblak:[/strong]It seems more like a catch-up release to ID2. Fair point. I think that's right, which makes the rest of the bluster in the magazine all that much more inappropriate and delusional. On the one hand, forward progress is a good thing (if it works as advertised--something I'll...

X-Ray Magazine

I agree with longtimedesigner. I think that any news about 7 is of great interest, but I'm taking this with a larger grain of salt than usual. Quark- will it work for me?

What Adobe had in mind we can only guess, but I'd say that they figure that if you're wanting to select it, you'd want to bring it to the front. The best way to work with this, IMHO, is to segregate your master elements on their own layers. The layer control of master element is actually quite good.

Quark- will it work for me?

Yes, I can see what you're saying...but it all comes down to layer management.

Quark- will it work for me?

What's so difficult about ID's master items?...they're more powerful than XPress, and selecting them the first time (only) requires a keyboard modifier.

Printer Spreads

You can get this feature in InDesign if you pick up the PageMaker plug-in pack for ID. It comes with a version of ALAP's InBooklet plug-in, which you can also buy separately.

QUARK: For gods sake will you sort yourselves out!

The original post brings up an issue that I've been hearing about all to often with this release. Anyone else care to comment on the relative stability of 6.5?
