Hi gdrake, I did contact you by e-mail, but so far have not gotten a response. Pixelated PDFS from Quark 8 & 9 when using imported PDFs

One can change the color blend space in the Flattener Preview dialog. The original PDF simply shows up in US SWOP. I left it at DeviceCMYK when flattening the transparency. One can set it to use No transparency Blend space. Leaving it alone, assuming Acrobat detects it properly, "should" mean that ...

Pixelated PDFS from Quark 8 & 9 when using imported PDFs

Well, my previous reply is in moderation. sometimes I hate this forum... https://www.dropbox.com/s/d1pgdq5ep94zl84/32307-Eighth-modified.pdf Is a modified PDF using Acrobat's Flattener Preview function instead of exporting as an EPS. Please note that Acrobat's Flattener will attach the working colo...

Pixelated PDFS from Quark 8 & 9 when using imported PDFs

The text is text in Project2.pdf. Try selecting the text in Acrobat. the bitmap is tiled under the text, but it is text. Actually the original text is *under* the pictures that Quark created during transparency flattening. I have no idea why Quark does that, but see: I removed the bitmaps that Quar...

Pixelated PDFS from Quark 8 & 9 when using imported PDFs

Just tried to create a droplet but had this message "You can't open the application "My Preflight" because PowerPC applications are no longer supported. Does this mean my computer isn't compatible for this now as it's not PowerPC and I need to get a new version of Acrobat? Im currently using Acroba...

Pixelated PDFS from Quark 8 & 9 when using imported PDFs

First: congratulations for using Acrobat's preflight to check PDFs. You are part of a small minority that actually does this important step. You can even add a fix-up to your Acrobat preflight that flattens transparency, should there be any. As I only have a german version of Acrobat, I cannot help ...

Pixelated PDFS from Quark 8 & 9 when using imported PDFs

I'd say you are seeing what happens when you import PDFs which contain native transparency into QXP. Quark will flatten said transparent elements in the PDFs, which will turn those elements into pictures with (depending on settings) low resolution. You can try to change the PDF output settings to al...

"Save As" causes "Paste"

Matthias Guenther (Quark) wrote:the problem is that we still cannot reproduce the bug, so it is virtually impossible to fix
Well you could involve users where the bug appears often/regular and supply them with a special build of QXP 9 that makes (remote) debugging easier.

"Save As" causes "Paste"

This is not a solution, but if you own Keyboard Maestro, you can work around this bug by defining this macro (of course the macro should be available for application quarkxpress only): [ulist][*]Delete Past Clipboard 0[*]Select 'Save' in the menu 'File' in 'QuarkXPress'[*]Set Clipboard to Past Clipb...
