Re: Text on a curve

There is also this: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=14249

I wrote that in 2005, but it's still relevant I think.

Re: QXP 2016 / QXP 8

Agree with all you've written there, Erik. Forgot to make one thing clear: PDFs have made QXP vs InD moot, in my niche anyway, since if what I'm to deliver printers is output-ready PDF, no one really cares what I've used to generate the layouts. The snag I ran into involved two well-known NY publis...

Cannot yet align the stroke to inside/outside, but I suspect that will be an enhancement sooner than later. Split columns arrived as well and without ID's inher...

Re: QXP 2016 / QXP 8

It does take a village! And speaking of the "evil" other software, would you believe that in my industry (literary publishing), I'm the only freelancer/self-employed designer/compositor who not only still uses QXP, but also, has had to be let go by some NY publishers because I've refused to switch ...

Re: QXP 2016 / QXP 8

Glad to know this, Erik. Thanks! I will use .qxp next time around. And, I'm amazed you're still helping folks out around here—a true comrade. You helped me rescue myself/my workworld a couple times, a few years ago . . . I try to help as I can. Pretty much just the basics now as, like I said, XPres...

Re: QXP 2016 / QXP 8

Dear all, You may consider this investigation closed. Mike helped me learn that before I attempt to convert these older files, I need to change a given file's suffix to ".qxd"—I've tried this and it is indeed the fix. With thanks to Mike, and to you all, Jeff Glad it was this, Jeff! You're welcome-...

Re: QXP 2016 / QXP 8

Doesn't QXP 2016 require older documents to be at least version 9 or 10?

I ask because this error usually means one of two things. Either the document version you are trying to open is too low or too high.

Re: Text alignment

That's how I recall it.

Happens in InDesign as well.

Re: Text alignment

When you add the pictures do they have runaround applied?

Trying to recall how this worked oh so many years ago when I was using 8.x.
