move and copy

CMD+D (Mac), CTRL-D (Win). CMD+OPTN+D (Mac) to set a distance of the duplication. CTRL-ALT-D (Win) for the same.

Quark 6.1 and Extensis Suitcase

As far as I know there is no way to preview fonts as they are supposed to look under OS10.2.8 using Suitcase. At least I can't find a preference in Suitcase for that. It may be in the System Preferences somewhere. I know that if you are using Suitcase 10 or below with OS9 you get a preference settin...

Quark 6.1 and Extensis Suitcase

I use Suitcase X11 everyday with QX6.1. From what you describe I think you are most likely describing TrueType fonts. Suitcase will list styles for TT fonts as seperate fonts, but QX only sees one font. They are still there, you just have to use the menu styles to apply them. Hope that helps.

eps images in Quark 6.1

Resave yoiur eps with an image preview. Generic eps' aren't saved with a preview and this is the result. Use a TIFF preview ad PICT previews tend to corrupt.

how do i apply tabs to subsequent text

It's been forever since I worked on version 3.3 and 4 never had the feature you describe. Once you set your tabs on that first line it should pick up for every line thereafter. You can try selecting and copying (don't paste) the line from which you want to base your tab setting on, then creating a s...

curved text

I don't know exactly what you would like to do with your type, but you can get type on paths other than a straight line. What I do is use a picture box, modify it to my shape and then convert the box to a freehand shape. From there I convert the picture box to a text box and then I have text on a pa...

Opening up a Quark Document with the proper fonts

Install the fonts in your System Folder:Fonts folder. Alternatively, if you have any Font Management software you would need to see their documentation. But the first folder I mentioned is where OS9 looks for installed fonts.

Scroll Bar - help please

Not a Quark issue. Go into your General Preferences under System Preferences (OS 10.2.8) - don't know if it's the same under 10.3 and higher). There's an option there to change where your scroll arrows appear.

Columns

You did not say what version of Quark you are using, but alternatively if you have version 5 or 6 you could use a 2 row, 3 column table, combine the two cells at the top and link the other cells together for the body copy. You can then adjust the size of your table to git what you need. Add or delet...
