Once had a CMYK IllyCS EPS file with an embedded RGB (yes I know its not supposed to allow it), out of quark this postscript would crash Distiller.
Best of luck

Illustrator EPS with linked files

I'm not sure if any version of Illustrator EPS ever supported spot colour Photoshop files but I think there is a workaround. TRY Save the Illustrator file as a pdf. Then open the pdf in Acrobat, and Save As EPS (level3 is best if your Rip wiil support it). This EPS should support your spot colours.

Help - Quark will not print text on top of an image in 6.5

This doesn't help but may be related. There is a thread on the Quark pdf forum that indicates that q6.5 is messing overprints of white out text in pdfs when placed over a photo. There is also a thread about the contents of boxes overprinting when a border (frame) is applied. I think we need quark 6....

Illustrator EPS with linked files

Looks like its me that's stuck in the past. i just tried with Illustrator 10. As you say, even when you uncheck the include linked files, they still get written in the file. Just to prove I'm not completely crackpot. Place a photoshop EPS then Save as Illustrator 6 compatible EPS with the in...

if it is white text check the trap information to see that is not overprinting.
also check the item modify dialogue to check the suppress output checkbox.

Illustrator EPS with linked files

"The "E" in eps means "encapsulated." That means you only have to send the eps" No. Encapsulated means that quark can not read (and is not concerned with) the files contents, but just copies it into the postscript code for the RIP to handle. Think of it as a sealed envelope, quark sends the whole en...

client's Quark 4/Mac OS 9 problems

Type2 errors are almost always font problems. Usually a corrupt font has taken out Suitcase. if you have Suitcase, use Extension Manager to turn it off (view as Packages), reboot and see if the problem goes away. If it does then trash the Suitcase prefs, before turning it back on again. you will los...

Illustrator EPS with linked files

You NEED to embed the pictures in order to print them properly out of Quark. The only way Quark will otherwise be able to use them is if they are placed directly in quark. I'm not sure if any version of Illustrator EPS ever supported spot colour Photoshop files but I think there is a workaround. Sav...

Illustrator EPS with linked files

Your illustrator eps should have the pictures embedded otherwise they won't print correctly. Quark can not read the "link" information in an illustrator file, so can't collect the links (I guess Flightcheck can read this link information so includes those linked pictures for completeness). The actua...
