Adding frame to box results in wrong overprint from 6.5

Thanks Robert

I spend too much time reading these forums, so now I am paranoid about such thing as PPD's. Ref all your advice to older Harlequin RIP users. DELTA is a Heidelberg product.

It is actually quite refreshing to here its a bug. :?

overprint/knockout options not available in Quark 6.5

Hi Louis i posted this problem on the Quark Printing Forum. It seems that it is a bug. It is nothing to do with Illustrator (for once) as the box background still overprints when empty. it is nothing to do with DELTA (again for once). We also keep G4's that boot in OS9.2 for customers with Q4, 5 and...

Adding frame to box results in wrong overprint from 6.5

This problem is from a general thread but seems more at home in this forum. Create a new doc draw a yellow box, draw a 20% black box overlapping the 1st box (trap default knockout), put a cyan frame on the 20%tint box (the trap options for the background of the box grey out). Print postscript file a...

overprint/knockout options not available in Quark 6.5

HELP. Just replicated this very problem. Create a new doc draw a yellow box, draw a 20% black box (trap default knockout), put a cyan border on the 20%tint box. print postscript file and the 20% black overprints. It seems specific to Quark6.5. I tried from Quark6.1, the 20%black box knocks out. What...

Scanners and dpi

2400dpi should be plenty of resolution if thats optical resolution and not just digitally scaled up. To make use of the resolution use bitmap as the mode in photoshop and save as a TIFF. Also check you are not down-res ing when you output from Quark.

Why? Picture box gap for illustrator eps. Why?

Would this be a illustrator version thing? Quite often when you do nothing to the size of an Illustrator eps, but say change a colour of an object then re-save it. It does move position in quark. Since several people have tried unsuccessfully to replicate the problem, could it be that only if the ve...

Art disappears when pdf is created

Hello Jana

you may like to check out the thread "pdf in quark guaranteed to print"

It worked for me.

One thing to note; use Get Picture to place the EPS. If you hide the original pdfs then use Picture Usage to relink to the EPS instead of the pdf then it often prints low-res.

Why? Picture box gap for illustrator eps. Why?

Hi Milan i'm convinced your problem is with Illustrator, which is always doing strange things with eps. I've tried in both Illus CS and 10. create a box 50mm x 50mm, Save As EPS and Quarks 5 and 6.5 both read the EPS as 50x50mm. I don't know if this is still the case but EPS used to get converted to...

Why? Picture box gap for illustrator eps. Why?

Just tried it with Illus10 & Quark5. I'm not getting the same result. Could it be that your box has a stroke on it. Check the dimensions of the box in illustrator, then check against the dimensions in the "Get Picture" dialogue box when you highlight the EPS. 0.353mm relates to 1pt stroke (half a po...
