link to a file in qid

Hi Jacques Thanks for the clarification. Yes this can be done using the Internet -> Open URL action. First you must zip the projector files, (I tried uploading the exe without zipping it but this does not work) and upload them to the same loacation as your main SWF file on your web server. In the ma...

Hi Jacques

Not sure I understand your query completely. What kind of file do you want to link to? Could you please explain in a little more detail.

Thanks,

Create a Digital Clock with 4 actions in QuID

Hi In this exercise we will create a digital clock using just 4 actions. This exercise will also help explore some lesser used actions in QuiD. Steps ----- 1) Create a text box and make it a textbox object , call it "clock" 2)Create a new script and add the following actions to it (i) Apply the Expr...

Re-using Objects

Hi Jonathan Since the transparent boxes all need to be shown at one time , we would need to keep all 18 transparent boxes. I will let you know of a second implementation for this too , and see if it is acceptable to you. For the displaying of the border around the boxes , we can have just one box ha...

untitled document web page

Hi Leanne

This happens as we have not assigned the page a page title.
This can be done by going to the Page menu and clicking on page properties. The first field here is the page title field.
Enter your page title here and export your web page to see the results.

Regards,
Kabir

Increasing page loading times

Hi rwigginsaz Glad you enjoy QuID. To decrease loading time you must decrease file size of the exported swf files. Please see the link below for more info on this: http://www.quark.com/service/forums/viewtopic.php?t=17107 If you need more help regarding QuID , please feel free to post your questions...

Buttons not working

Hi Jonathan Sure , you could show a "splash screen" kind of thing for say 10 seconds , by creating a splash screen page , and use a script that has a delay action of 10 s and that goes to the next page after. But , the problem with using this is , the delay would always be there , even if the swf is...

Buttons not working

Hi Stephanie The issue here is that we are clicking on the buttons while the rest of the swf is being downloaded. Initiially the first page is displayed and meanwhile the rest of the swf is being downloaded (this can be seen from the browser status bar), so clicking on a button to take you to some o...

SWF movie wont play in web layout - what am I doing wrong?

Hi Leanne_1978 From what I understand , I think you are trying to export a QuID swf file that has a video object from the web layout space. If that is the case then we might be able to resolve this. When you export a SWF file from QuID that has a video object, a folder called LayoutName_Videofiles i...

Auto running an SWF in a web site

Yup , you're right , it does loop , think the problem was that the file was not completely downloaded.
