Well Ira,

You can boot your machine to safe mode on O/S X. Hold down th shift key when you hear the first beep and release it when you see the progress indicator with the apple screen.

During the startup, you will see "Safe Boot" on the Mac OS X startup screen.

Try this!!
Logout off the network and make the user log in as the Administartor of the local machine. In control panel go to Network Connection and disable it.

Restart the machine, install Quark...

hi Koko, The xtensions are loaded in the Quark Xtensions folder by default and required for Quark to load the xtensions. This reson could be a conflict !!
Try booting in safe mode, hold down the shift key when you boot the machine..
See if the problem appears in Safe mode with the new user :arrow:

Are you saving your files directly to the network drive?? If yes, make sure that auto save and auto back features are not turned on!!!

But if u want to be on the safer side, I would suggest saving the docs locally and then moving to network drive..(shots in dark!!!!)

Hi shook,

If you navigate to the QuarkXPress folder on the HDD, it will contain a file named 'XPress6.0.dat'. delete that file, the next time the problem appears and ....

Yes you have to be either Admin or Power user on the machine in order to launch QXP.
