Cloud based proofing options?

Does Quark have any cloud based proof options (something like Adobe's Incopy)?

Cloud based proofing options?

Post by Matthias Guenther (Quark) » 17 Jun 2014, 22:16

Hi jgold,
not sure I understand, as InCopy is a Desktop application and not cloud based.
Yes, Quark has an application that's similar to InCopy. It's called CopyDesk, which was first introduced in 1991 and it is always compatible to QuarkXPress. The current version of CopyDesk is - like QuarkXPress - 10.1.
Thanks
Matthias

Hi Matthias:

Thanks again for your response. If I understand this correctly, everyone on our team would need to have Quark Publishing System installed on their desktops and we'd all need to be connected via a network?

Right now we have a team of 5 writers, designers and editors spread in a large geographic area. Once a document is created, it is turned into a PDF and then placed on the (cloud based) annotate platform for review / markup.

We don't have the ability (or likely the budget) to maintain dedicated software on everyone's desktop.

Am I misunderstanding Quark Publishing System / Copy Desk capabilities? Is there another option for small groups like ours to collaborate from our various locations?

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

yes, you can use Quark Publishing Platform, however you don't have to.
You can use also CopyDesk and QuarKXPress by themselves.

Whether that makes sense for your workflow, you should first test.

Thanks
Matthias
