QuarkXPress 10.1.0.1 released

Post by Matthias Guenther (Quark) » 18 Mar 2014, 20:56

Hi all,
we just released a patch 10.1.0.1 via Auto Updater and in the download section.
Please note that this is a light updater, so you need 10.1 to be installed first.
We also put the release notes (listing Known Issues and Issues Resolved) online, you can find them here:
www.quark.com/Support/Documentation/QuarkXPress/10.aspx
Regards
Matthias

Hi Andrej,
thank you for your nice words and your support, glad the patch works well for you.
As 10.1.0.1 is a ligth updater, you need to install 10.1 first, so that's why we link to 10.1 still.
Regards
Matthias

QuarkXPress 10.1.0.1 released

Post by lpisanec » 18 Mar 2014, 23:29

This is getting ridiculous.

I updated to 10.1.0.1; when I open a document created in 10.1 and scroll to the bottom of a page, then scroll upward again, Quark slows to a crawl and then crashes. Rebuilding that document from scratch in 10.1.0.1 and it does not crash on scrolling.

Test documents and crash log: https://daten.albersdruck.de/Send_to_cr ... rk.com.zip
Try pdfos_page1.qxp or pdfos_page2.qxp to get Quark to crash.
Windows 7 x64 SP1

Opening the same documents on Mac OS X Mavericks, Quark crashes when I try to export as PDF and click on "Options" in the file dialog to change the export settings. I'll report more on that crash when I get home today.

If I want to place a pdf and browse a folder with a lot of pdf files in it and have preview enabled, Quark crashes after previewing some pdfs.

I tried scrolling / exporting as PDF on Windows 7 / 8.1 and Mac OS 10.9.2. QuarkXPress 10.1.0.1 did not crash. It is slow to scroll on Windows, but works fine on Mac OS. Could you please try after deleting the old image cache from Library\Caches\com.quark.xenon.cache.*** ?

I deleted the image cache (on Windows btw, I removed the directory in AppData\Local\Temp), result is the same: http://youtu.be/Njz1izoF4sM

BTW, 10.1.0.1 ignores rendering intent in placed PDF files and always converts color according to what is defined in color setup/source (if a conversion is needed).

Hi Richi,
do you mean the documentation for QuarkXPress 10 in Spanish? If yes, it's here:
http://www.quark.com/en/Support/Documen ... /10.aspx#6
And I am not sure I understand the second part of your question, do you mean a book about QuarkXPress published by a 3rd party?

Matthias
