Recently our Server went down so we had to move all our "shared files" from the old server hard drive to my computer. I'm having an issue with the graphics/picture paths. If someone else opens an ad in Quarkxpress 9 with pictures (which are on my computer) then I open the ad this says "This Project is locked, Changes cannot be saved. (315). Then I allows me to go ahead and open the ad but all the pictures are missing...even though they are on my computer - since I'm the server/file sharing computer. Then if they open my ads they get the same message - even though we have read and write permission etc.Example of the Paths from other computers/Volumes/Clipart & Misc./LogosExample of Paths from my computer (which have the files on them)/Clipart & Misc./Logosand when we use an Extension from Media Span "Classflow" which makes data files that connect graphics/EPS files (which are on my computer)My computer give me an error message "Can't find selected server/IP address - which is My computer??? It's like in Quark It can find the files on my own computer with is program. Before the server went down, everything was working fine. I know it has to do with the "file sharing" and "users & groups" etc. and Quark.

First and foremost, it has to do with the fact that you are using OS X Client as OS X Server. The client version of OS X (the commercially available OS from Apple) was never designed to do what you are doing. I know, because when our server died in 2006 we had to go through this for a while.
Every time you open, work on and save a file OS X assumes that you are the owner of that file and applies permissions appropriately. Even if you have your files in the Shared Users folder this still happens. The whole point is to protect your files from being modified or used by someone who does not have permission to do so. There is no way to change this. It worked fine on the server because the server version of OS X is designed to allow this.
Secondly, because you are using the client version your PATH to images is different than the path that everyone else uses, so consequently images appear as missing, etc.
Your only real solution is to replace your server.

One way of doing it is... if you have a different volume on the machine name it "Clipart & Misc." and move all the data under it,
then instead of sharing a folder, share the complete volume with other users, so in that case both the local and network machine will see the path as "/Volumes/Clipart & Misc./"

For a different volume does that mean separate hard drive or an external drive? This is a newer Mac mini with only one hard drive. Thanks!

I mean a different partition, if you only have single partition you can split it using Disk Utility, just make sure to Back-up your data to external drive/different machine before playing around with it.

You can also try another option
1. open finder press cmd+shift+g type "/Volumes" enter
2. copy your entire folder "/Clipart & Misc." to this "/Volumes"
and share this new folder "/Volumes/Clipart & Misc."
you can create an alias on desktop for this folder for easy access.
