Are you using Windows 10? If so, that began following the Windows Anniversary Update. There is no solution as far as I am aware of other than rolling back, which I am not going to do. I have opened x number of past jobs, saved as a new name and sipped the contents for reuse.

I mainly use QuarkXpress 2016, so for me version 9 is for older work and the odd xml job.

Thanks for your response, Mike. Yep, I'm using Windows 10. I thought a recent update might be the culprit. Creating new projects by piggybacking off of old ones may be the way to go for the time being. I'm going to review other publishing programs before I commit to Quark 2016.

Q2016 is pretty nice, but do your homework, try the trials, etc.

I feel Q2016 is the best Q version ever. Been using Q since version 3 (and ID since its beginnings, etc).

By jove, João, that does indeed work!

Thank you for the post. I don't know why disconnecting Internet access allows the creation of a new document in QXP 9.x, but it does work. This problem then may also be as simple as blocking QXP 9.x from Internet access via the firewall.

Again, thank you. Mike

The truth is that it really works, my friend. But "Quark" or "Microsoft" should solve the problem, because people have the right to be well served, I lost two days until I discovered the error.

Thanks for reading, and pass word. I'm sorry for my english

Hi João,

QuarkXPress 9 was never made or certified for Windows 10. If you need a supported version of QuarkXPress on Windows 10, please use QuarkXPress 2015 or QuarkXPress 2016.

Thanks
Matthias
