Thumbnail copying

Post by Starbuck » 01 Sep 2011, 14:14

Thumbnail copying is a little different with App Studio because when you thumbnail copy say the vertical pages, blank horizontal ones are automatically created a tied to the vertical copied ones. So, when it's time to copy the horizontal pages, you can not place in their proper place, next to the matching verticals, because a blank layout has been already attached to them. So my question are actually two:- Is it possible to thumbnail copy both vertical and horizontal layouts to a new project?- Is it possible to replace a blank thumbnail by another one?

Thumbnail copying

Hi Starbuck,
Pages of Vertical and Horizontal layouts are always in sync. Whenever you insert or delete pages in one orientation then blank pages corresponding to inserted ones are added to the other orientation. This is designed to keep page number automatically synced in both orientation.
To copy content from one orientation to other you have to select items and use 'Copy to Other Layout' option. If you want to have altogether different content in V and H orientations than best method would be copy paste content from existing project to the target project.
Please let us know the purpose of doing thumbnail drags to both the orientations separately?
Thanks,
JB

Thumbnail copying

Thumbnail copying is just faster than manually selecting contents; besides, you have to unlock layers to select all the elements, so manual copying is less reliable and more prone to errors than thumbnail copying. I think it would be useful to be able to thumbnail copying both orientations at the same time. It just makes more sense than thumbnail copying just one orientation and having to manually copy-paste the contents of the other one.
